GACE American Sign Language Assessment
Available June 2008

The GACE American Sign Language (ASL) assessment will be administered for the first time on June 14, 2008, in the Atlanta—Metro and Valdosta test areas.

Registration is by Internet only and is available during the regular registration period only. For the June 14, 2008, test administration, the registration deadline is May 2, 2008. The score report date for this administration is September 15, 2008, to accommodate activities related to the setting of passing standards.

The GACE ASL assessment includes a receptive comprehension component for which examinees respond to selected-response questions after viewing a video recording in American Sign Language. It also includes an expressive production component for which examinees are recorded as they respond in American Sign Language to constructed-response assignments presented in a test booklet.

Test preparation resources for the GACE ASL assessment will be posted on this Web site as soon as they are available.
