Background Questions

When you register for the GACE, you will be asked to answer the following background questions. Providing accurate and complete background information about yourself is important. The information that you provide will be kept confidential.

If you register on the Internet, you will answer the following questions interactively as you register. If you register by U.S. mail, enter your responses to the following questions on the registration form. Each question number corresponds to the section of the registration form where you will record your response.

Educator Preparation Program Provider (section 8 on the registration form)

Complete this section only if you are registering for an assessment other than the Paraprofessional assessment. You must provide a response to 8A, 8B, or 8C.

If you completed or are currently completing an educator preparation program outside the state of Georgia, enter "998" and proceed to question 8B.

Employing Agency to Receive Results (section 9 on the registration form)

Complete this section only if you are registering for the Paraprofessional assessment.

You may select a school district or Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) to receive your results. Indicate the employing agency to receive your results by entering the three-digit code from "Employing Agency Codes." If you enter a code, your results will be released to the employing agency you have indicated and to the GaPSC.

Reason for Taking the Test(s) (section 11 on the registration form)

Select the option that best describes your reason for testing.

1. I am seeking admission into an educator preparation program.
2. I am enrolled in or a graduate of an educator preparation program and am seeking Georgia certification.
3. I hold a professional educator certificate and am adding an additional teaching field, endorsement, or Academic Content Concentration.
4. I am enrolled in or seeking admission into the Georgia TAPP preparation program.
5. I am seeking the test-based option for Georgia certification.
6. I am seeking paraprofessional certification.
7. I am seeking a nonrenewable certificate.
8. I hold an educator certificate in another state and am seeking an educator certificate in Georgia.
